Aaron Lewis is a musician from the United States who is best known for being the main singer, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of the nu metal band Staind, with whom he has recorded seven studio albums. Aaron Lewis was born on April 13, 1972. With the publication of his first EP, Town Line, in 2011, he has been pursuing a solo career in country music since 2010. The Road, Lewis’ first full-length solo album, was released in 2012 on Blaster Records. In November 2012, Lewis released The Road, his first studio album. Its first hit, “Endless Summer,” also reached the country charts. Except for “Granddaddy’s Gun,” which was written by Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins, and Bobby Pinson, all 10 songs on the album were written by Lewis.

This is the only album on which Lewis has included non-original material. Lewis said that he recorded “Granddaddy’s Gun” out of need and as a tribute to a buddy in an interview with Broadway’s Electric Barnyard. Town Line, a country music EP that Lewis completed recording in July 2010, was made available on March 1, 2011, via Stroudavarious Records. Seven songs are included on it, including three renditions of the lead hit “Country Boy” with George Jones, Charlie Daniels, and Chris Young, “Massachusetts,” “Vicious Circles,” “The Story Never Ends,” and a re-recording of “Tangled Up in You” from The Illusion of Progress.  Lewis said in a July 2011 interview that his grandpa had first exposed him to country music when he was a boy. However, after touring with Kid Rock, a fellow rocker who has dabbled in country music, Lewis’ interest was recently renewed. Lewis was placed 49th on Hit Parader’s list of the “Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists” in 2006.
