This is Akhenaton, a French rapper and hip-hop producer who was born on September 17, 1968, in Marseille. Chill, AKH, Sentenza, and Spectre are just some of the identities he’s used in the past. He first gained notoriety while performing with the group IAM and has since released many albums both with the group and on his own. Music by Passi, Stormy Bugsy, Chiens de Paille, Fonky Family, Freeman (formerly of IAM, now a solo artist), La Brigade, Le 3ème il, etc. was produced by Akhenaton. He founded the vinyl record company 361 and the record labels Côté Obscur and La Cosca.

His American friends gave him the moniker “Chill Phil,” and he started performing in Marseille nightclubs under that identity alongside buddy and DJ Eric Mazel, later known as Khéops, because of his many visits to NEW YORK, where his Italian father’s family lived.
