Alessia Cara (born July 11, 1996) is a singer-songwriter from Canada. She is signed to EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings and is most known for “Here,” her breakthrough song from Know-It-All, released November 13, 2015, “Stay,” a duet with Zedd, and “Out of Love,” a track off her sophomore album, The Pains Of Growing. Cara’s debut studio album, Know-It-All, debuted at number 8 on the Canadian Albums Chart and number 9 on the US Billboard 200 chart. “Scars To Your Beautiful,” the album’s third song, peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016. Cara teamed with DJ and producer Zedd on the tune “Stay” in 2017 and rapper Logic on his song “1-800-273-8255” the following year. Cara has four Grammy nominations, including one for Best New Artist in 2018.

Cara released three singles in late 2018 to promote her sophomore album, TAlessia Caracciolo attended Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario. Her ancestors hail from the Italian province of Calabria. Her mother is an Italian immigrant and her father was born in Canada to Italian parents. She is able to communicate in the Italian language.
