Alison Sudol Bio

Alison Sudol was born in Seattle, Washington, to two dramatic arts teachers, Sondra Fraser West-Moore and acting coach John Sudol. Sondra (Fraser) West-Moore was a drama teacher, while John Sudol was an acting coach. A theatre teacher, Sondra (Fraser) West-Moore, and an acting coach, John Sudol, worked together on this project. Sudol and both of her parents moved to Los Angeles when her parents divorced when she was five years old, and she has lived there ever since.

Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as swing and other genres, were among the artists she listened to as a child. Among the artists, she considers being some of her greatest influences are Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Simon and Garfunkel, who all have music that she enjoys. She graduated from high school when she was 16 years old, and she described herself as “nerdy and quiet” in her college application.

She did not “use alcoholic beverages, smoke cigarettes, or engage in any other type of vice.” In an interview, she expressed her belief that “When I was younger, I was anxious about going to college and starting at such an early age. After graduation, I anticipated it would take me two years to figure out what I wanted to accomplish with my music career.

And when I was 18 years old, I was completely immersed in it and didn’t want it to come to a stop.” C. S. Lewis, E. B. White, Lewis Carroll, Anthony Trollope, and Charles Dickens were among the authors Sudol devoured as well as the writings of other authors.

A phrase from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream inspired her to name her band “A Fine Frenzy,” which means “a fine frenzy rolling,” and she chose the name because of the line: “The poet’s eye, in a fine frenzy rolling, doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven” (Act 5, Scene 1). Having taught herself to play the piano, she channeled her creative energy into writing and recording songs for the enjoyment of other people.

In response to her submission of a little sample, Jason Flom of EMI took note and signed her after visiting her house and “listening to her perform.” Sudol has made numerous allusions to the literary sources that have influenced her musical compositions. She has only recently revealed that she is also pursuing a second career as a writer, which she is really happy to be doing.

She mentioned in an interview that she is currently working on a children’s narrative in the “Narnia” genre, which is a fantasy story with animals, which she is currently writing. Sudol revealed the title of her fantasy adventure novel Three Sails and the Family Moss in an interview with Ladygunn magazine in the spring of that year, and the book was released later that year.

Sudol’s stage name, A Fine Frenzy, was derived from the phrase “in a fine frenzy rolling” (i.e., rolling in the ecstasy of inspiration), which appears in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act V, Scene 1. Sudol’s stage name, A Fine Frenzy, was derived from the phrase “in a fine frenzy rolling” (i.e., rolling in the ecstasy It was under the label A Fine Frenzy that Sudol’s music was released.

During the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in March of that year, Sudol played as an opening act for The Stooges, who were also in attendance. She released her debut studio album, One Cell in the Sea, a few months later, to overwhelmingly positive reviews. In its first week of release, the debut single, “Almost Lover,” debuted in the top 25 of Billboard’s Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart, and has since remained there.

This time last year, she was offered another opening role, this time for Rufus Wainwright’s tour, which took place around this same time. South Korean singer Sudol headlined her own tour in the United States and Canada in March and April of 2008, and she also played in Europe in April, including France, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland.

She was the headline performer on the opening night of the New Pop Festival, which was hosted by the German broadcaster SWR3 in September 2008 and featured a variety of artists from around the world. It was November 2008 when she played as part of a headline tour of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Additionally, she appeared at the Super Bock em Stock event in Portugal, which took place in December of that year.

On August 14, 2007, her song “You Picked Me” was selected as one of iTunes’ “Free Singles of the Week,” and she was also featured on VH1’s “You Oughta Know” series as one of the musicians who “You Oughta Know.” Additional to this, in October of that year, the song “You Picked Me” was chosen as the theme song for the Portuguese television network SIC (Sao Paulo International Communications).

To date, more than 300,000 copies of One Cell in the Sea have been sold around the world. It was first made available in 2008 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Poland, with the rest of the world following suit in 2009. The album debuted in the top 30 of the charts in each of those countries, with the first single, “Almost Lover,” reaching the eighth place on the German charts, the tenth position on the Swiss charts, and the fifth position on the Austrian charts, respectively.

‘Bomb in a Birdcage’ is Sudol’s second studio album, which was released on September 8, 2009, and is available for purchase on iTunes. “Happier” and “Electric Twist” were released in the following months as follow-ups to the release of the band’s debut single, “Blow Away,” on July 17, 2009. ‘A Fine Frenzy Live at the House of Blues Chicago,’ an album and concert DVD that was recorded in 2007 and published on iTunes, was made available on November 23, 2009.

Sudol revealed through Twitter on October 31, 2011, that the band was in the process of mastering their upcoming album, which was released in December. A number of song titles, including “Avalanches” and “Riversong,” were confirmed while Sudol was in attendance at the Sundance Film Festival, including “Riversong.” Earlier this year, Sudol disclosed the title of his third studio album, which would be released in March 2012 via Lucky magazine. Pines is the name of the album.

However, the album’s official release date has been pushed back to October 9, 2012, from its initial September 2012 release date. In addition to Pines, Sudol created an animated short film and a companion book, both of which were illustrated by Jen Lobo, to accompany the book. Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide is a multi-platform media project inspired by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn’s book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, which was launched earlier this year with the help of A Fine Frenzy.

The campaign was dubbed “30 Songs / 30 Days” and featured A Fine Frenzy as one of the songs. Afterward, Sudol stated that she will no longer perform under the name A Fine Frenzy, but that she will continue to produce music under the name: “I have laid A Fine Frenzy to rest.” During Season 1 of the television series Transparent, Sudol and fellow Transparent cast member Clementine Creevy collaborated on a cover of Jim Croce’s song “Operator (That’s Not The Way It Feels),” which they performed on the show. Glitters was the name of the band that recorded the song, which was Glitters. It was published as a full-length track on the Transparent soundtrack CD in December 2014, and the CD included the song in its entirety, which was released in December 2014.

Alison Sudol made history on November 24, 2017, when she released her debut song under her own name, “Enough Honey.” Alison Sudol was the first woman to do so. 2014 was a year in which Sudol devoted her time and energy to her acting career, appearing as Kaya in the first season of the Amazon Video series Transparent, in which she also appeared on a recurrent basis.

The character was a singer who also happened to be the love interest of Jay Duplass’s character Josh, who played the character. Emma Wilson, an archaeologist, was one of the key characters in the television series Dig, in which she also appeared as a member of the main cast. A list of “The 7 Most Exciting Newcomers on Television this Season” was published by Elle magazine in January 2015, with Sudol being included among them.

It was released in 2016 as the first in a planned series of five Harry Potter prequel films devised by J. K. Rowling, titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to be released in 2017.

Sudol made an appearance as a co-star in the film in 2016. Sudol appears in the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as Queenie Goldstein, the younger sister of Tina (Katherine Waterston), in which she also appears as Newton “Newt” Scamander. Sudol was born in New York City and raised in Los Angeles (Eddie Redmayne). With the action taking place in New York sixty-five years before Harry Potter’s story begins, the film is based on the Hogwarts textbook of the same name, which tells the story of the author, “magizoologist” Newt Scamander.

David Yates directs the picture, which is also produced by David Yates and his brother, David Yates. The film was released in theatres on November 30th, according to the studio. Sudol reprised his role in the film’s 2018 sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which was directed by David Yates and released in theatres on November 16, 2018.

During his membership in the International Union for Conservation of Nature from 2011 to 2013, Sudol obtained the status of “Goodwill Ambassador,” which he uses to encourage other people to become interested in nature and conservation.
