Canadian-born Andy Moog was born on February 18, 1960, in Penticton. He is in charge of the goalie department and the overall growth of the Dallas Stars’ players now that he is retired from the NHL. Moog used to work as an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars. He has suited up for the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, and the Canadian national team, as well as the WCHL’s Kamloops Chiefs and WHL’s Billings Bighorns and CHL’s Wichita Wind. Moog has won the Stanley Cup on three separate occasions. For the 1989–90 NHL season, he and his goaltender partner, Réjean Lemelin, won the William M. Jennings Trophy for having the fewest goals scored against them in the regular season.

Moog was Vice President of the NHLPA at the middle and end of his career. During the 1992 NHL strike and the 1995 NHL lockout, he was well recognised in this role as a spokesperson for the players. Canada’s 2006 Winter Olympic team hired Moog as a goaltending consultant on August 19, 2005.
