Angus Young Bio

AC/debut DC’s album, High Voltage, was released on February 17, 1975, and featured characters such as Spider-Man, Zorro, a gorilla, and a Superman parody called Super-Ang. Over the next three years, he rose to number one in many countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, and to number four in the United States. In 2011, Malcolm Young confirmed that AC/DC was working on their 16th studio album.

Malcolm Young was forced to leave the band in April 2014 due to illness, leaving Angus as the only consistent member of the band. Stevie Young, Malcolm and Angus Young’s nephew, stepped in for his uncle to record AC/latest DC’s album in May. Malcolm officially retired in September, and Stevie was named AC/official DC’s full-time rhythm guitarist. In the fall of 2014, AC/DC released Rock or Bust.

After the departures of Malcolm Young and drummer Phil Rudd in March 2016, AC/DC was dealt another blow when long-time lead singer Brian Johnson was ordered by doctors to stop performing or face total hearing loss. Angus, determined to see the band’s vision through, enlisted Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose to fill in for Johnson for the remainder of the Rock or Bust World Tour.

It’s unclear what Angus has in store for the band after the tour, but Axl Rose has expressed interest in staying on board for as long as Angus requires. AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, and they were ranked 72 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “100 greatest artists of all time” the following year. VH1 ranked them 23rd on their list of the “100 greatest artists of all time” and 4th on their list of the “100 greatest hard rock artists.” In 1963, he relocated to Sydney, Australia.

He began by playing the banjo, then moved on to the guitar, which he learned on a cheap acoustic instrument his mother had acquired secondhand. His first Gibson SG was also a secondhand purchase. He dropped out of Ashfield Boys High School when he was 15 years old. He started out as a member of the Kentucky, a local band. Tantrum was formed after the band disbanded.

He and his brother Malcolm formed AC/DC in 1973, with Angus on lead guitar, Malcolm on rhythm guitar, Colin Burgess on drums, Larry Van Kriedt on bass guitar, and Dave Evans on vocals. Their first single was “Can I Sit Next To You.” It was eventually re-recorded as “Can I Sit Next To You Girl,” with vocals by Bon Scott.

After trying on a variety of theatrical costumes suggested by his sister Margaret, who designed the original uniform, he finally settled on his signature schoolboy look. Following that, he dressed in his school uniform. AC/debut DC’s album “High Voltage” was released in 1975. They released “T.N.T.Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “Let There Be Rock,” and “Powerage over the next three years.

Their studio album “Highway to Hell” became their best-selling album in 1979, catapulting them to new heights of fame. Soon after, the group’s lead singer, Bon Scott, died of alcohol intoxication. Following Bon Scott’s death, AC/DC enlisted the help of ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson to complete the record they had started. In 1980, the film “Back in Black,” a tribute to Scott, was released.

“For Those About to Rock, We Salute You” was a huge hit in 1981. Following that were the albums “Flick of the Switch,” “Fly on the Wall,” and “Blow Up Your Video,” all of which were only moderately successful. AC/studio DC’s 1990 album “The Razors Edge” was a critical and commercial success. It went 5x platinum in the United States, and between 10 and 12 million copies were sold worldwide.

Among the songs on the 1995 album “Ballbreaker” were “Hard as a Rock,” “Boogie Man,” “Cover You in Oil,” “Hail Caesar,” and “Ballbreaker.” The album “Stiff Upper Lip” was released five years later. In 2010, they released an album that included all of the songs from the “Iron Man 2” soundtrack. It ranked first in a number of countries, including the United Kingdom, and fourth in the United States.

Young collaborated with Gibson Guitar Corporation to develop the Angus Young SG, which includes a bridge pickup, a ’57 Classic Humbucker, and “lightning bolt” inlays in the neck. “Back in Black” went on to become the world’s second best-selling album, trailing only Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

It went 22x multi-platinum in the US alone, and 50 million copies were sold worldwide. In 2008, AC/DC released “Black Ice,” which reached number one in 29 countries and was certified multi-platinum in 14.

It went on to become one of their most popular albums all over the world. AC/DC won their first Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2010 for the song “War Machine” from the album “Black Ice.” The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

Angus Young is an Australian guitarist best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, songwriter, and sole surviving member of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. On stage, he is known for his outstanding performances and various costumes while playing the guitar. He has received numerous awards for his performances and has amassed a large fortune as a result of his efforts.

However, most Angus fans were unaware that he had a difficult start to his career in his early years. He worked at a variety of low-wage jobs before deciding to pursue a musical career. Because of that one-of-a-kind decisioAngus Mckinnon Young, born on March 31, 1995, in Glasglow, Scotland, was born into a poor family. He grew up in Glasgow with his family and began working as a machine and saw operator for a cement and asbestos processing company at a young age. He also had a job as a wheel boy.

Angus attended Ashfield Boys High School but dropped out when he was 15 years old. Growing into an adult who worked hard for every penny, Angus joined the Royal Air Force as a flight engine mechanic during World War II in 1940. After the war, he worked as a yardman and a postman. Meanwhile, his family was known for their musical interests, with all of his brothers becoming proficient in a variety of musical instruments. Angus’ hands fit well on the guitar, and he had an ear for the right musical rhymes while playing the banjo.

According to sources, his mother gave him his first guitar, and in 1970, he bought a used Gibson SG with the few pennies he had saved. Apart from the combos he played in with his brothers, Angus Young’s first experience as a musician was with a band called Katuckee. The members of the band were vocalist Bob McGlynn, bassist Jon Stevens, and drummer Trevor James. Unfortunately, the band disbanded, prompting Young to join the Tantrums.

He only stayed with the Tantrums for a short time before leaving to join the Marcus Hook Roll Band, a band formed by one of his brothers. In 1973, he released his first album, Tales of Old Grand-Daddy, with his new band, and the following year, he left the group to form AC/DC with his other brother, Malcolm Young.

Angus Young was the band’s lead guitarist at the time, and they later added bassist Larry Van Kriedt, drummer Collin Burgess, and vocalist Dave Evans to the lineup. Angus donned various costumes on stage in an attempt to stand out from the rest of his bandmates. He would occasionally appear dressed as a Gorilla, Spiderman, or Zoro, and he also attempted a Superman parody called Super-Ang.

Later, he began to appear on stage in his former high school uniform. With AC/DC, he released High Voltage, which also served as the group’s debut album. Following that, the group began touring and performing live while travelling through various cities, states, and countries. T.N.T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There Be Rock, Powerage, Highway to Hell, and a slew of other albums followed.

The band has recently lost a few members of its crew, and with Malcolm Young’s retirement, Angus Young has become the band’s oldest member. Meanwhile, the band has had numerous successes and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2004, they were ranked 72nd on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 greatest artists of all time, while VH1 ranked the team 23rd on the 100 greatest artists of all time and number 4 on their list of the 100 greatest hard rock artists.
