Although he held the championship lead at one point, he ultimately finished the season in fourth position, behind the eventual champion, Priaulx. He finished the 2008 season and is already in 2009. He had six victories that year, but Gabriele Tarquini of SEAT won the championship in the final race.  In 2010, BMW fielded a single two-car lineup in the WTCC, with Farfus joining Andy Priaulx at the Racing Bart Mampaey squad.
