American comedian and actor Christopher Crosby Farley was born on February 15, 1964, and died on December 18, 1997. Farley was a member of Chicago’s Second City Theatre and then a cast member of NBC’s sketch comedy programme Saturday Night Live for five seasons (1990–1995). He was noted for his loud, energetic comic style. In the years that followed, he became an actor, making appearances in movies including Airheads, Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Beverly Hills Ninja, and Almost Heroes. Originally from Maple Bluff, Christopher Crosby Farley was born on February 15, 1964, in Madison.
His parents were oil company owners; Thomas John Farley Sr. (1936-99) ran the family business, while Mary Anne (née Crosby) Farley stayed at home to raise their son. [2] He was the second of four children; his siblings were Tom Jr., Kevin, John, and Barbara. Jim, his cousin, is Ford Motor Company’s chief executive officer. All members of the Farley family trace their roots to Ireland and practise their Catholic faith. Chris received his education in Madison’s Catholic institutions, notably the Sacred Heart Edgewood High School. Chris “always made it to Mass,” as fellow Second City actor Joel Murray put it. He spent many summers at Red Arrow Camp, located not far from Minocqua, Wisconsin, both as a camper and later on as a counsellor. Having studied both communications and theatre at Marquette University, he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986. He played rugby union at Marquette and developed a taste for humour there. After finishing his degree, he joined his father in the Madison office of the Scotch Oil Corporation. He got his start in improv comedy at Madison’s Ark Improv Theatre.
