American pop singer David James Archuleta was born on December 28, 1990. After winning the children’s section of the Utah Talent Competition when he was only 10 years old, he went on to make many singing performances on television.  Archuleta won the Junior Vocal Champion title on Star Search 2 when he was just 12 years old. Archuleta announced in March 2012 that he will take a two-year break from his music career to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Chile.  It was reported in February 2012 that he had sold 1,108,000 albums and 3,327,000 singles in the US alone. The Philippines were the only country to get Archuleta’s fourth album, “Forevermore,” when it was released in March 2012. Featuring renditions of various popular Filipino songs, this was his debut album of Original Filipino Music (OPM). As of June 2012, the album has sold 10,000 copies in the Philippines, earning it gold certification.
