Hercules, Sir Elton John CH CBE is a British vocalist, pianist, and composer who was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947. John, who gained the moniker “Rocket Man” following his popular song of the same name from 1972, has had a long and successful solo career, releasing 31 albums since 1969.  John has been working with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967, and both musicians and reviewers praise him for his work in the 1970s and his long-lasting influence on the music business. John was up in the London district of Pinner and started playing the piano at a young age. In 1962, he started the blues band Bluesology. John and Taupin met as a result of their responses to a call for songwriters in 1967, the same year that John left Bluesology to pursue a solo career. John worked as a session musician for musicians for two years as they created songs for other artists. In 1969, John published his first album, Empty Sky. He created the Elton John Band a year later and issued “Your Song,” his first smash song.
