On April 9, 1959, Fred Dekker was born in the United States; he went on to develop and direct the cult classic horror comedies Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad (written with Shane Black). Besides directing and co-writing RoboCop 3 with Frank Miller, he also contributed to the scripts for House (1986) and Ricochet (1991).In the early 1980s, he directed a short film he had created in college called Starcruisers.
