Jared Abbrederis also used to play wide receiver in American football. After starring for the Badgers in college football, the Green Bay Packers picked him up in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played for the Detroit Lions as well. Abbrederis earned three varsity letters in football while at Wautoma High School in Wautoma, Wisconsin. As a sophomore, he was selected to the all-conference second team at quarterback. In his junior season, he was once again recognized as a second-team all-conference quarterback and a first-team all-conference defensive back. He made first-team all-league at quarterback and defensive back as a senior and was named offensive player of the year by his conference and the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. His career-throwing yardage total was 3,014 when he retired.
