After her sister Jenna passed away unexpectedly in 2011 from an inoperable brain tumor, Adams began performing stand-up comedy in 2011. Prior to Jenna’s passing, Adams and her sister had competed in dance competitions together for 13 years at their aunt’s dancing school in Bristol. Although Adams participated in a number of young theater companies in Bristol when he was a child, including the Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre, he did not receive any official training in singing or acting.
