Juan Cruz “JC” Aragone is a professional tennis player from the United States. He was born on June 28, 1995. He received his education at the University of Virginia, where he participated on three teams that went on to win the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship. In the 2017 US Open, Aragone made his maiden participation in the ATP main event after advancing through the qualifying rounds. Aragone is a native of Yorba Linda, California, and attended the Parkview School, an independent study school with its headquarters in Placentia, California, for his formal education. After experiencing an adverse response to an acne medicine in January 2012, Aragone was hospitalized because he was in danger of losing his kidneys and liver function.
During the same year, a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes was made on him. Aragone ended his junior career by playing in two junior US Opens and finishing 14th in his graduating class, despite the difficulties he faced along the way. He has decided to play tennis at the University of Virginia throughout his collegiate career. During his time at Virginia, Aragone was an integral part of the Cavaliers’ run of three consecutive NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship victories.
