American film director and screenwriter James S. Abrahams (born May 10, 1944) is best known as a partner in the production team Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker. Abrahams is the son of educational scholar Louise M. (née Ogens) and lawyer Norman S. Abrahams, both of whom are Jewish. He was born in Shorewood, Wisconsin. As a student, he enrolled in Shorewood High. Since he was a kid, he has had a summer house near Eagle River, Wisconsin.
He co-wrote and produced the parody films Airplane! (for which he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay) and The Naked Gun series with his brothers Jerry Zucker and David Zucker.
