He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on February 8, 1955, to parents who did not go to college themselves but pushed their son to do so. Grisham moved to Southaven with his family when he was young. Grisham’s passion for writing did not emerge until he had already begun his legal career, so he certainly would not have thought of himself as a writer when he was younger.
