Polish rally driver Krzysztof Wiesaw Hoowczyc was born on June 4, 1962, in Olsztyn. He took first place in the European Rally Championship in 1997 and the Polish Rally Championship in 1995, 1996, and 1999. In addition to serving in the European Parliament (2007-2009), he did so on the Civic Platform list. In 1995, 1996, and 1999, Hoowczyc was crowned Polish Rally Champion. Additionally, he has three Rally Poland victories (1996, 1998, and 2005). By the late ’90s, Hoowczyc was a regular competitor in the World Rally Championship, often driving a Subaru Impreza WRC.
