Mark, M.D. Former NFL offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins and current Orthopedic surgeon Stephen Adickes, M.D.. While at Baylor University, Adickes participated in collegiate football. He went on to get degrees from George Mason University and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Adickes presents the sports medicine talk program Athlete 360. In 1984, Adickes began his professional football career with the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League. The Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft of USFL and CFL Players, where he spent the next four seasons. After that, he spent two seasons with the Super Bowl champion Washington Redskins.

Adickes retired from the NFL to pursue an education in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, after having attended George Mason University and Harvard Medical School. Adickes trained in sports medicine at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado, with Richard Steadman as his mentor. In 2007, Adickes was appointed as the Co-Medical Director and Orthopedic Surgeon of the Sports Medicine Institute at Houston’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. The Houston Rockets, the U.S. Ski Team, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the University of St. Thomas all have Adickes as their team physician.
