Mark Stahl is a former professional stock car and off-road racing driver from the United States. He has raced in the ARCA Re/MAX Series and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, and he has won the Baja 1000 off-road race four times. Between 1981 and 1993, Stahl competed in 30 Winston Cup Series races, with a best result of 16th at Darlington Raceway in 1986. Additional 32 events saw him miss the cut. When Stahl qualified for the 1987 Winston 500, he set the track record in the second round, making him a member of the quickest field in NASCAR history. In 1991, he uprooted his life and set up shop in South Carolina so he could pursue a career in auto racing.
In 1990, Stahl had sponsorship from Hooters; however, when he was unable to qualify for the 1991 Motorcraft 500 at Atlanta International Raceway, 1992 Winston Cup Series Champion Alan Kulwicki stepped in and took up the sponsorship for that race, and the rest of the season. By the time Stahl departed NASCAR, he had accumulated more disqualifications (33) than races (30). He went on to participate in a total of 48 ARCA races between 1988 and 2001, with a high result of fourth at Talladega Superspeedway in 1997. Stahl withdrew from racing after the 2001 season, but he returned to the sport in 2007 to co-drive in the Baja 1000 with Jim Christensen and won the Touring Car class. Stahl co-drove in the May 2011 NORRA Mexican 1000 vintage race after another driver had repaired his 1977 Chenoweth for the event.
