The American League’s Minnesota Twins are a professional baseball club headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota (AL). Before moving to Minnesota in 1961, the Twins played in Washington, D.C. When the American League was formed in 1901, the Washington Senators were one of the initial eight teams to join.
