Pete Wentz Bio

Pete Wentz born June 5, 1979, is an American musician best known as the bassist, primary lyricist, and backing vocalist for the American rock band Fall Out Boy. Before joining Fall Out Boy, Pete Wentz was born Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III in Wilmette, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. He is the son of high school admissions counsellor Dale Wentz and lawyer Pete Wentz II.

He went to North Shore Country Day School and New Trier High School, where he was an all-state soccer player. He began skipping school on a regular basis during his freshman year of high school, and a school counsellor convinced his parents to send him to boot camp to straighten him out.

During this time, Wentz began writing songs as a way to express himself. He attended DePaul University after graduating from high school in 1997, where he studied political science before dropping out one semester before graduation to focus more on music. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Wentz recalled that his first musical memory was listening to The Foundations’ song “Build Me Up Buttercup” in the back of his father’s car.

Arma Angelus’s Music Career (1998–2002) In the late 1990s, Wentz was primarily involved in the Chicago hardcore punk scene, and he was a member of several bands. First Born (the first band, formed in 1993), Birthright, Extinction, Arma Angelus (along with Tim McIlrath, frontman of Rising Against), Yellow Road Priest, and Racetraitor were among them. After Trohman introduced Pete to a musical acquaintance, Patrick Stump, he and Arma Angelus bassist Joe Trohman formed the pop-punk band Fall Out Boy.

Andy Hurley agreed to play drums part-time but did not join the band full-time until later. Arma Angelus, the band in which Wentz was the vocalist, played its final show in 2002. Fall Out Boy (2001–2009, 2013–present) is an American rock band formed in 2001. Fall Out Boy is the main article.

Fall Out Boy released an EP titled Fall Out Boy/Project Rocket Split EP in 2002. Soon after, on Uprising Records, the band released their mini-LP Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out with Your Girlfriend. After the band’s third, successful full-album release, From Under the Cork Tree, on the major label Island Records, this album was digitally remastered and reissued. Take This to Your Grave, the band’s first full-length album was released in 2003 by Fueled By Ramen.

In 2003, Fall Out Boy signed with major label Island Records and released an acoustic EP and DVD titled My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue in 2004.

(2010–2012) Black Cards In Black Cards, Wentz performs alongside Bebe Rexha.

Wentz formed the ska/electropop band Black Cards in July 2010 with singer Bebe Rexha, guitarist Nate Patterson, and drummer Spencer Peterson. The band had intended to release a full-length album in the summer of 2011.

However, after several delays, the departures of both Patterson and Rexha, and general uncertainty about the band’s future, the band reshuffled, scrapping the original album and announcing plans to release a mixtape, write new material, and continue to remix other artists’ tracks. Regarding the band’s sound, Wentz has stated that while on leave to spend time with his family, he became inspired by Jamaican reggae songs such as Culture’s “Two Sevens Clash” and The Gladiators “Warriors.” Wentz then approached producer Sam Hollander (Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship,

Hey Monday) about combining ska, dance, and reggae with 80s British rock and pop to create a new experimental sound. Wentz has been a fixture of the Chicago hardcore scene since its inception in 2001, most notably as the lead vocalist and lyricist for Arma Angelus. During Fall Out Boy’s 2009–12 hiatus, Wentz formed the experimental, electropop, and dubstep group Black Cards.
