Peter Criss Biography:

Hello, friends! Are you a follower of Peter Criss? Would you like to know about his personal or professional life?

If yes, so you came to the right place. We have shared his fanmail above. This article will give you all the information you need about Peter Criss.

In the ’70s, Peter Criss became a household name as the theatrical heavy metal band Kiss’ drumming dynamo. Criss, who was born Peter George Criscoula on December 20, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, picked up the drums after being inspired by the likes of famed jazz drummer Gene Krupa and ’60s rockers like the Rolling Stones. Over the course of the ’60s and ’70s, Criss played in a number of local bands but grew increasingly frustrated when none of them achieved any success. This was especially true after an audition for Elton John’s band failed to pan out and Criss’s close friend Jerry Nolan was offered the drumming position in the groundbreaking trash/glam/punk band, the New York Dolls. But then, two other New Yorkers responded to an ad Criscoula had posted in a music periodical, which said, “drummer with 11 years of experience, eager to do anything.”

It turned out to be Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, who were in the process of forming a band to serve as a backlash against the many sappy hippy groups of the day. Shortly after adopting the identity of Peter Criss, Criscoula was hired. Once guitarist Ace Frehley joined the group, they settled on the name Kiss and began performing loud rock with a catchy melodic edge. It was also decided that each member of the band would dress as a different “character,” with Criss going with a cat.
