Sergio Agüero was born on 2 June 1988 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was his parents’ second-born child. His dad was a cab driver, Leonel, and his mum was a homemaker. Sergio was brought up in an enormous family of six siblings.

When they conceived him, his parents were teenagers and also financially weak. This caused several problems when his mother was pregnant with him. Situation after he was born did not change much, and the family struggled to survive. When Sergio was 2 years old, the family relocated to Florencio Varela. . Sergio’s dad played soccer in his youth, but didn’t want to make a career in the game much. His passion for the game remained unchanged, and Sergio was influenced. Soon, he took control of teaching his kid, because due to financial difficulties, he was unable to enrol his son into a football academy.

Thankfully, Argentina’s football infrastructure was very robust and so was the ‘Independiente’ system for young players. Until he was ultimately allowed to make his debut against Club Atlético in the 2003 game, Sergio played with their junior division.

He was over 15 years old and became the youngest player to make his debut in the field. Football great Diego Maradona previously held the record. Thus, in 2004 Sergio became Argentina’s youngest player in the Copa Libertadores. His tournament performance gained a place on the national ‘Under-20’ team who competed in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2005, which Argentina finally won.
In the 2005-2006 season, Sergio’s performance improved and in the 36 league matches, he finished 18 goals. Sergio verified the news of different European clubs trying to get him. Soon, he said it was with the local Argentine club his last season. ‘Atlético Madrid’ seemed to be the main competitor to buy Sergio in the race, and in May this transfer was confirmed.

In May 2006, ‘Atlético Madrid’ bought Sergio officially. Sergio encountered controversy in October 2006 about using his hand while scored a goal. His first season for ‘Atlético Madrid’ was a mixed bag because Sergio scored just seven goals in all of his matches.

In the 2007–2009 ‘La Liga’ season, he became a squad star with 19 goals in the league and the third best scorer. He was selected “Man of the Match” in a match against Barcelona in March 2008. His achievements against tougher clubs contributed to ‘Atlético Madrid’ finishing fourth. For the first time in ten years, they qualified for the ‘UEFA Champions League.’

The 2008-2009 season was another great success for Sergio, as he was one of the top-ten contestants for the ‘Pichichi Trophy’ by the end of that season, and he also had a role in leading his team to qualify for another ‘Champions’ League. In 2010, ‘Atlético Madrid’ won the ‘UEFA S’ final.

The 2010–2011 season of ‘Atlético Madrid’ was extremely productive, as Sergio was at the top of his careers. He scored 20 league goals and scored back to back goals in seven consecutive games from March to May 2011. Of May 2011, Sergio made the first hack trick in his career, in an anti-Mallorca encounter. Despite his comfort with the Atlético de Madrid, Sergio aimed for more and in mid-2011, he officially revealed that, at the end of his career, he wanted to transfer away from the Atlético de Madrid. In July 2011, the Manchester City ‘Premier League’ club reported that Sergio was bought from ‘Atlético Madrid,’ debuted in a ‘Premier League’ match against ‘Swansea City’ for ‘Manchester,’ and won the match. Although his first season was full with ailments, he maintained appearing from time to time on the field. Sergio made his debut in the League Cup against Arsenal and scored a goal, the only goal scored during the game. He assisted his side to reach the top 16 in the 2011–2012 UEFA Europa League.
