American football veteran Theodore Carl Albrecht played offensive linemen for the Chicago Bears for five seasons. Albrecht is presently a football commentator for WGN (AM) radio broadcasts featuring Northwestern University. Albrecht was an offensive lineman with the Chicago Bears for six seasons after being selected first overall in the 1977 NFL draught. In 1977, he was named to the All-Rookie Team, and the next year he was named as a Pro Bowl alternate.

Albrecht’s career was cut short in 1983 when, at the age of 28, he declared his retirement due to a bad back injury. In his retirement, Albrecht started a travel service called Albrecht Travel Systems and began doing color commentary for Northwestern University football on WBBM (AM) radio.

Since WGN (AM) began broadcasting Northwestern University football games in 1996, Albrecht has tuned in there. WGN and Northwestern announced in early 2016 that their deal will be extended by four years, until the conclusion of the 2019-2020 season.
