Terence Hong Kong film actor, singer, producer, and media relations expert Yin Chi-wai was born in China. Yin has appeared in more than 30 films, has one solo album out, and currently resides in Hong Kong. Yin was born on May 19, 1975, in Hong Kong. Jenny Hu, Yin’s mother, was a Shaw Brothers Studios actor in the ’60s and ’70s. Yin’s late father was the filmmaker Kang Wei (1940-2013). The eldest sibling in the Yin family is named Christopher. Yin and his brother Christopher moved to Los Angeles in 1983 when Yin was just 7 years old.

Yin attended Mark Keppel High School, located in the city of Alhambra, California, and graduated in 1993. Yin graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Philosophy (rhetoric) in 1997.  A close friend and frequent collaborator, Daniel Wu, was one of Yin’s co-stars in his first film, Yonfan’s Bishonen (1998). Undecided, Yin’s solo album from 1999, was a moderate hit in Taiwan.In 2003’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, Yin and fellow Hong Kong actor Simon Yam made their Hollywood debut as Chen Lo and Xien Lo, two brothers who are members of a fictional Chinese syndicate called the Shay Ling, who are enemies of Lara Croft, played by Angelina Jolie.
