In 1973, Vera Ann Farmiga was born in Clifton, New Jersey, to Ukrainian parents. She is an actress and producer. Michael Farmiga was a computer systems analyst, and Lubomyra Farmiga was a schoolteacher. They had two children together. She has a brother who is older than her and five younger siblings. She was born into a Ukrainian Catholic household and did not learn to speak English until she was six years old when she began attending kindergarten.

Farmiga’s family relocated from Irvington to Whitehouse Station, New Jersey when she was 12 years old, and she attended ‘St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic School’ in Newark.
