Born in Southlake, Texas (not far from Dallas), Abby Anderson (March 10, 1997) is a country music singer and songwriter for the United States. She’s under contract with the indie label Black River Entertainment. There are six other members of the Anderson family beside Abby, and she is the second oldest of the bunch. At age 5, she started taking piano lessons. Her mother, who hails from a line of country music artists and lovers, is the inspiration for her passion for the genre. After informing her parents she wanted to be homeschooled so she could pursue a career as a musician, Anderson was able to perform gigs in and around Texas. After completing high school early at age 17, she relocated to Nashville in February 2015.

First getting her foot in the door of the music business in 2014 when she sang “Let Freedom Ring” (Anderson’s cover of “My Country Tis of Thee”) on Glenn Beck’s conservative talk program, Abby was immediately captivated by the industry. The song’s success led to its inclusion on the Billboard and iTunes charts. Anderson moved to Nashville at the age of 17 and began performing at local hotspots including The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Cafe, and Tin Roof while simultaneously supporting herself as a nanny. Anderson signed a publishing and record agreement with Black River Entertainment at a benefit concert at the Ryman Auditorium in 2017. September of that year saw the publication of her first single, “This Feeling,” on Black River Records.
