Alexandra Rose Raisman born May 25, 1994 is a retired artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian from the United States of America. She captained the United States women’s Olympic gymnastics teams that won the 2012 “Fierce Five” and 2016 “Final Five” titles, respectively. Raisman was born in Needham, Massachusetts, on May 25, 1994, to Lynn (née Faber), a former high school gymnast, and Rick Raisman.Brett, Chloe, and Madison are her younger siblings. Raisman is Jewish and has stated, “I take great pride in being able to represent not only the United States of America, but also the Jewish community worldwide.” Raisman began her gymnastics career at the age of eighteen months. She credits her initial interest in the sport to the “Magnificent Seven,” the United States women’s team that won gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics and whose performances she watched on VHS.
