That is Super Bowl XXXIII and Super Bowl LI, their two Super Bowl appearances. It was the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI, both games that they would ultimately lose.
Atlantans thought it was time to pursue professional football after Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was completed. One company, which had promoted NFL exhibition games in Atlanta without the involvement of the NFL, petitioned for franchises in both the NFL and the American Football League. Despite the chaos, a group of local businessmen was able to negotiate and get an American Football League franchise on June 7, 1965, in exchange for exclusive stadium rights from municipal authorities.
