Swedish singer, pianist, composer, producer, and ABBA member Benny Andersson (born December 16, 1946); co-composer of the musicals Chess, Kristina fun Duvemla, and Mamma Mia! He also served as executive producer for the Mamma Mia! film adaptations of 2008 and its 2018 sequel. He has been performing regularly with his own band, Benny Anderssons orkester, since the year 2001. To the parents of civil engineer Gösta Andersson (1912-1973) and his wife Laila, Benny Andersson was born on December 16, 1946, in the Vasastan neighborhood of Stockholm (1920–1971). After him, in 1948, came his sister Eva-Lis Andersson.

Andersson hails from a musical family; both his dad and grandpa (Efraim) played the accordion and gave Benny one when he was six.
