American actress, comedian, writer, activist, and union organiser Francine Joy Drescher was born on September 30, 1957. She co-created and co-produced the comedy The Nanny (1993–1999) with her then-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, and became famous for playing Fran Fine, the show’s protagonist.Drescher made her acting debut in a supporting part in the 1977 picture Saturday Night Fever.
