Race car driver Geoff Brabham hails from Australia. The bulk of Brabham’s career as a race car driver was spent in the United States. From 1988-1991, while driving for Nissan, he won four IMSA GTP championships, making him the all-time leader in that category, and in 1993, he won the Can-Am series (1981). Brabham, together with Frenchmen Éric Hélary and Christophe Bouchut, drove a factory Peugeot 905 to victory in the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans. Before the team’s disqualification, his younger brother David Brabham had won the race’s GT class driving a Jaguar XJ220 for Tom Walkinshaw Racing.

After Bernard Rubin (1928) and Vern Schuppan (1983), Geoff Brabham became the third Australian driver to win the Le Mans race. In 2009, David Brabham also won the Le Mans 24 Hours while competing for the Peugeot factory team. During his time in the International Race of Champions stock car series, Brabham won two races in Michigan (in 1992 and 1993).
