Bassist for the Go-and-Go’s American musician Kathryn Valentine. She has been able to balance her academic and artistic ambitions with her music career by composing, recording, performing, and touring. In October of 2021, Valentine and the rest of The Go-Gos were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Valentine was an only child reared by her mother, an English ex-pat, after her birth on January 7, 1959, in Austin, Texas. She switched to an alternative school named Greenbriar in the ninth grade, and it was there that she first picked up the guitar. When she was a little girl, she went to England with her mother and saw Suzi Quatro on Top Of The Pops. She had never considered that a woman might make it as a famous musician.
