Kevin Charles Millar is a former Major League Baseball  first baseman and outfielder who currently works as an analyst for MLB Network. From 1998 to 2009, he was a member of the MLB’s Florida Marlins, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Toronto Blue Jays. He presently co-hosts the MLB Network programme Intentional Talk with Stephen Nelson, as well as the audio podcast Intentional Talk: Caught Listening. Los Angeles is where Millar was born. In his junior year, he attended University High School in West Los Angeles, where he played baseball for the team that won the 3-A City championship in 1988 under coach Frank Cruz.  He obtained his diploma from Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California.

He attended Los Angeles City College, where he played baseball, and later Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Coach Jim Gilligan oversaw Millar and the Cardinals, who were successful. Millar had a significant role in Lamar’s two-season rise to prominence in collegiate baseball. Lamar had a 32-21 record in 1992, a 14-victory improvement over the previous year and the NCAA’s best turnaround. In addition to being named All-Sun Belt Conference, Millar led the Cardinals in runs, hits , home runs  and runs batted in  that season. He played college baseball in the summer with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League following the 1992 campaign.
