Laura Marano Bio

Marvel Studios is presenting audiences with what it hopes will become a cult classic. This is Marvel’s I’ll Be Home For Christmas, a spirited setting inspired by the creative team’s desire to give the grounded and street-level series a new flavour for Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“A couple of years ago, as we were brainstorming and discussing the storey, we were trying to figure out how to differentiate this series from Wandavision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. And one way was to time it to coincide with the holidays,” Hawkeye executive producer Trinh Tran told The Hollywood Reporter. “Of all the characters, it made sense to tell Clint Barton’s storey at this time of year, as he is a family man. He’s one of the few Avengers with children, and following the events of Endgame — in which he lost his children for five years, transformed into Ronin, and reclaimed them — this will be his first Christmas with his family. And the series’ central question is whether he will be able to return home in time.”

Hawkeye, the first Disney+ series to star a prominent Avenger, premieres November 24 on Dise a Christmas classic with Hawkeye. The six-episode series, set in a post-Blip New York following Avengers: Endgame, follows retiree Clint Barton’s (Jeremy Renner) merry mission to make it home in time for the holidays. When a threat from his past reappears, Clint teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a 22-year-old skilled archer, to unravel a criminal conspiracy that could pose an Avengers-level threat.

“I hope [Hawkeye] is required viewing for the holidays,” Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and Hawkeye producer, told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s enjoyable; we’ve always desired to perform a storey at Christmas.” We had a small segment in Iron Man 3 that served as our Christmas storey — nobody views it as a [Christmas storey], but we do consider it a Christmas film. However, this is unapologetically a holiday storey.”

“I love the idea of it being a perennial that people can check out each holiday season,” Feige added of Hawkeye, which will premiere on Disney+ on November 24 with two episodes. “I adore the fact that it begins just before Thanksgiving and ends just before Christmas. On Disney+ for the first time, you get the title Avenger, which is fantastic. Naturally, Jeremy Renner is the best, and he is the reason to do it. Fortunately, Hailee wanted to work with him, and so we cast her as Kate Bishop, and it’s that pairing that I believe will make for a very happy holiday season.”
