Nadine Coyle Bio

Nadine Coyle (born June 15, 1985) is an Irish singer, songwriter, actress, and model who rose to prominence in the early 2000s as a member of the band Six before joining the girl group Girls Aloud. By May 2009, the group had amassed a combined fortune of £25 million. Coyle has achieved a string of successes with Girls Aloud. Coyle was born on June 15, 1985, in Derry, Northern Ireland, to Lillian and Niall Coyle. Her parents first noticed her singing talent when she was two years old, when she sang “Saturday Night at the Movies” by The Drifters. Coyle was uninterested in her studies, but she received good grades. She made a demo CD, which she gave to Louis Walsh and The Late Late Show. Cover versions of “Fields of Gold,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Love Is,” and the aria “Summertime” were included on the CD. Girls Out Loud Coyle auditioned for the Irish version of the reality television talent show Popstars, on which Walsh was a judge, in 2001, while still a student at Thornhill College. She was accepted into the band Six, but it was not to be.

Coyle had lied about her age, it was revealed. She was only 16 years old, two years younger than the required minimum age of 18. RTÉ, according to Coyle, “exploited” her. She attended Thornhill College in Derry once more. She later revealed that she had a cancer scare when she was 17 and discovered a lump in her breast. Louis Walsh persuaded Coyle to participate in Popstars The Rivals, the second British series of the international Popstars franchise. The series’ goal was to create two winning pop groups – a boy band and a girl group, each with five members – who would then compete in a “battle of the sexes” for the Christmas number one spot on the UK Singles Chart. Thousands of people auditioned across the UK in the hopes of being chosen. Judges Walsh, Pete Waterman, and Geri Halliwell chose ten girls and ten boys as finalists. These finalists then took to the stage for live performances on Saturday nights (alternating weekly between the girls and boys). After her performance of “Walsh told her she gave the “performance of the night” in “Fields of Gold.” “You stole the show for me,” said fellow judge Halliwell, “and I’d love to buy a single of yours right now.” “.. Coyle joined Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh to form the new girl group Girls Aloud, which was formed through a public vote on the show.

In 2009, Nadine on November 30, 2002 “Sound of the Underground,” the group’s debut single, peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the 2002 Christmas number one. Sound of the Underground, released in May 2003, debuted at number two and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry later that year. Girls Aloud have had twenty consecutive top ten singles since 2003. Their singles “I’ll Stand by You,” “Walk This Way,” and “The Promise” all reached number one on the charts

Girls Aloud decided to take a break in 2009 to pursue solo projects. During Girls Aloud’s hiatus, Insatiable Coyle announced plans to release a solo album.
