Nan Dutton, CSA, (born 12 August 1952; age 70) was casting director for the Star Trek: Voyager first season episode “Caretaker”, along with Kathryn S. Eisenstein. She and Eisenstein were in charge of finding roles for the series’ regular cast members. Regular casting director Junie Lowry-Johnson had twins, so she and her assistant Ron Surma, who worked on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, filled in for a while. [1] The casting of subsequent episodes was handled by Lowry-Johnson and Surma, with “Original Casting” credit going to Dutton and Eistenstein. Only Dutton was given credit for the show’s original casting after the episode “Prime Factors.”

Dutton’s first role was as a casting associate on the 1985 science fiction comedy Creation. Actors Jeff Corey, Ellen Geer, Virginia Madsen, David Ogden Stiers, Kenneth Tigar, and Ian Wolfe all appeared in the film and were all veterans of the Star Trek franchise.
