Rinaldo “Dindo” Capello is an Italian professional racing driver. He was born on June 17, 1964 in Italy. He has triumphed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on three separate occasions: in 2003, with Bentley, and in 2004 and 2008, with Audi. Capello is a five-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring race, a two-time champion of the American Le Mans Series, and the holder of the record for most wins at the Petit Le Mans race, having won that race five times. Additionally, Capello has competed in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the German Touring Car Championship, and the Italian GT Championship.

Capello began his racing career in 1976 by navigating go-karts; however, he did not transition into single-seaters until 1983, when he began competing in Formula Fiat Abarth. Capello was born in Asti. In 1990, Capello won his first major championship, the Italian Superturismo Championship, driving a Volkswagen Golf. This triumph was Capello’s first major championship win. In 1996, he won the title once more, but this time he did it driving an Audi A4. Capello won his first big endurance race in 1997 at Vallelunga, in the Vallelunga 6 Hours, while driving a Volkswagen Golf once more. This was Capello’s first major triumph. Audi Sport Joest gave Capello the opportunity to compete in the Le Mans event in 2000, driving the Audi R8.
