Shirley  Bassey  Born in Wales on January 8, 1937, Dame Shirley Veronica Bassey DBE  is a famous performer. Cardiff-born Bassey made his debut as a performer in 1953 while still a teenager. With the release of I Owe It All to You in 2020, Bassey made history as the first female artist to place an album in the Top 40 of the UK Albums Chart for seven consecutive decades.
