In the 1990s, Sran Dragojevi, a filmmaker and screenwriter from Serbia, rose to prominence. He was born on January 1, 1963.His membership in the Socialist Party of Serbia lasted from 2010 to 2017. (SPS). He was elected to represent the SPS in the Serbian Parliament in late August 2013. Dragojevi called himself a “child of middle-level communist nomenklatura in Serbia” since his father, Anelko Dragojevi (1934-2017), was a journalist and his mother, Ljiljana, was a French translator. His dad had management positions at OOUR Novosti and the Belgrade newspapers Borba and Veernje novosti. While Dragojevi was young, he was a member of the punk/new wave band TV Moroni, where he played guitar. For fun, he tried his hand at journalism and contributed to the Polet newspaper and Start magazine.
The University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Philosophy awarded him a degree in clinical psychology. He began his education in cinema and television directing in 1987, studying under Bajo aranovi at the University of the Arts’ Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU). Dragojevi was also an active poet, having written and published a collection of poems titled Knjiga akcione poezije (The Book of Action Poetry) in 1986, for which he was awarded the coveted Branko’s Prize. He acknowledged that Soviet art of the 1920s and poets like Vladimir Mayakovsky influenced much of his own work.
