The Polish artist Tomasz Bagiski also works in animation and filmmaking. Bagisski attended the Warsaw University of Technology to major in architecture. His debut feature film, Rain, was nominated for various regional honours and served as his entry ticket to the creative director position at Platige Image. From 1999 to 2002, he worked on his first short film, The Cathedral, which went on to win the top award at the world’s largest animation and special effects festival, SIGGRAPH, and earn a nomination for an Academy Oscar the following year.

His second short film, Fallen Art, was released in 2004. During the 2005 SIGGRAPH festival, he won yet another award, making him the first artist in history to win both of the festival’s top prizes. In addition to the Prix Ars Electronica and the Grand Prize for Digital Shorts at the 2005 Golden Horse Film Festival, Fallen Art was awarded the BAFTA for Best Short Animation.
