The guitarist and lead vocalist for the blues rock band The Black Keys is an American musician and singer-songwriter named Daniel Quine Auerbach ( born May 14, 1979) from Akron, Ohio. Auerbach and his bandmate Patrick Carney have released eleven studio albums together as the band. Aside from the albums Keep It Hid (2009) and Waiting on a Song (2017) by his side project the Arcs, and Yours, Dreamily (2015) by his solo endeavor, Auerbach has recorded two solo albums.

In addition to being the owner of the record label of the same name, Auerbach also operates the Easy Eye Sound recording facility in Nashville. He has produced albums for bands and musicians such Cage the Elephant, Auerbach has won the Grammy for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical in 2013, and he has been nominated for the award again in 2020, 2021, and 2023. He has also won multiple Grammys as a member of the Black Keys. Auerbach is the son of French teacher Mary Little (née Quine; c. 1948) and antique dealer Charles Auerbach (c. 1950), and he was born in Ohio.  His mother was partially Manx and his father was of Polish Jewish descent.
