British politician and former South African businessman Sir Michael Lawrence Davis (born 15 February 1958) was formerly the chief executive (CEO) of Xstrata Ltd, an Anglo-Swiss multinational mining firm, until its merger with Glencore in 2013. After leaving Xstrata, he started the mining company X2 Resources and donated heavily to the British Conservative Party, where he served as CEO and treasurer until July 2019.
