An American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer, Timothy Ross Armstrong was born on November 25, 1965. He is the lead vocalist and guitarist for the punk rock band Rancid and the hip hop/punk rock combo Transplants, and his voice is what made them famous. Armstrong played in the ska punk band Operation Ivy before joining Rancid. Armstrong co-founded Hellcat Records in 1997 with Brett Gurewitz, lead singer of Bad Religion and proprietor of Epitaph Records. Using the alias Tim Timebomb, Armstrong began posting stripped-down versions of his own songs and covers of artists that had impacted him on his website in 2012.
