Daniil Vyacheslavovich Kvyat is a Russian professional racing driver who has participated in Formula One between 2014 and 2017 and between 2019 and 2020. He was born on April 26, 1994 in Russia. He is the most successful of the four Russian drivers to date, having finished on the podium three times, and he became the second Russian to ever compete in Formula One. He finished in second place in the 2012 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and won the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Series and the GP3 Series respectively in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, he made his debut in Formula One racing with the Toro Rosso team, and he ended the season ranked 15th in the World Championship standings. After that, he joined Red Bull Racing in order to drive alongside Daniel Ricciardo for the 2015 season.

At the 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix, he finished second overall, which was his first time ever finishing on the Formula One podium. His result was behind Sebastian Vettel. Kvyat finished higher than his teammate in the Drivers Championship in his debut year with Red Bull Racing, where he competed for the first time. The 2016 racing season began for him with Red Bull Racing, where he finished on the podium for the second time, this time in third place in the Chinese Grand Prix. However, after a contentious accident on the first lap of his home race in Sochi, Kvyat was relegated to Toro Rosso ahead of the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. It was there that he concluded the season and was retained by the team for the following year’s competition. Despite the fact that he had consistently strong qualifying performances in 2017, his season was marred by a variety of issues, including multiple retirements from races in which he might have collected points.
