On September 5, 1946, American film and television director, actor, writer, artist, and comedian Dennis Barton Dugan was born. Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, The Benchwarmers, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Grown Ups, Just Go with It, Jack & Jill, and Grown Ups 2 were all directed by him with Adam Sandler in mind. Dugan was the second of four boys born to Marion (a homemaker) and Charles (an insurance executive) Dugan, and he was born in Wheaton.
