A professional stock car racing driver and team owner from the United States, Joseph Robert Gase was born on February 8, 1993. He drives the No. 35 Ford Mustang and No. 53 Toyota Supra for Emerling-Gase Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on a part-time basis. As early as 2001, Gase was competing in the junior classes at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.In 2007, at the age of just 19, he became the youngest driver to ever win the track title for modified B at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. While racing late models at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in 2009, he set a record for being the youngest driver to win the track championship. Gase completed his high school education at Xavier in Cedar Rapids, where he received his diploma in 2011.

Before Gase turned 18, Gase’s mother Mary Jo passed away from a brain aneurysm. At the end of the 2015 season dinner for the Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series, Gase was presented with the first-ever Comcast Community Champion Award. Gase’s mother’s organ donation after her death benefited 66 other people, hence the prize was given in her honor. At Atlanta, Gase made his debut for Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing in a start-and-park truck in the Truck Series. When the race began, he was in the 26th position.
